Catholic Media Association Announces Opening of 2024 Book Awards Program
CHICAGO, Illinois (Nov. 1, 2023) — The Catholic Media Association announced today the submission period is officially open for the 2024 CMA Book Awards, honoring the remarkable efforts of authors, publishers, and editors who have made significant contributions to the Catholic literary landscape. Information detailing the awards program is available at catholicmediaassociation.org.
Updates to the 2024 awards program include the introduction of new categories such as Best Cookbook and Best Lifestyle Book. Catholic parishes and dioceses are invited to enter cookbooks published between 2018 and 2023. Best Book Published by a Diocese is also a new multi-year category.
Categories have been updated to ensure that awards entrants are able to find the category best suited for their work. The Awards Committee created a number of multi-year options in some categories to consider a greater selection of an author’s body of work.
Each year, the judges evaluate outstanding works that resonate with Catholic values, promote faith, and inspire reflection and understanding.
The awards spotlight various genres, from theology and spirituality to historical accounts, children’s literature, and more, appreciating the diversity and richness within Catholic writing. Beyond acknowledgment, the award winners enjoy heightened visibility, amplified by features on various platforms including the Catholic Media Association’s website, social media channels, and recognition in the annual Awards Issue of The Catholic Journalist.
